I remember going through my parents' divorce when Mrs. Doubtfire came out. The movie's theme of divorce really touched me. I watched the movie the first time thinking to myself how wonderful it will be to see Miranda and Danny get back together. Because at home, my parents were fighting and I thought that if the two characters could get back together, then my parents would, too. But when the movie's last scene ended, I woke up from my dream. Miranda and Danny didn't get back together. And that was very real for me. I thought a lot about that sad ending. It actually was very hard for me, but after awhile I realized how honest it was. It became a movie that helped me cope with my parents' divorce and I am now very thankful for this movie.
Did anyone else turn to Mrs. Doubtfire for support while their parents went through a divorce?

yeah it was a great movie. When my dad moved out, it was so hard for my sis and I. We watched doubtfire so many times and it was great to know there were other kids going through what we had to. I hope I can go to doubtfire fest. I'm in santa barbara but would make the drive. Keep it up!

Hey guys, I definitely had a similar experience with Mrs. Doubtfire. It was a great movie to watch because my parents had broken up a couple years before and I really hadn't seen a movie talk about divorce like that. Of course it was hilarious with Robin Williams posing as a woman (kind of creepy actually), but it lightened the mood on such a real and sad theme. Did anyone have a similar experience with how quickly Miranda moved on?
